Participation in external events IfM-researchers at the EBES-Conference

Dr Christian Dienes, Dr Stefan Schneck and Hans-Jürgen Wolter have found that the influence of start-ups on per capita economic growth tends to decrease in urban areas, while it increases in rural areas. At the 47th Interdisciplinary Eurasia Business and Economics Society (EBES) Conference in Berlin, Dr Christian Dienes explained the reasons for this in his presentation ‘Regional Entrepreneurship: Pain or Gain for Economic Growth?’.

Dr. Stefan Schneck presented the paper "Self-Employment and Tensions in Households", jointly written with Michael Cao. The key result is that it is the partner's and not the own self-employment that causes tensions in dual-earner relationships. This effect can be explained by the passion for work of the self-employed.
