What kind of jobs are at a research institute? How do the different departments work together? What qualifications are needed for the various professions? The 14-year-old schoolboy Gabriel found answers to these questions on this year's Boys' Day at the Institut für Mittelstandsforschung Bonn.
The day started in the morning in the administration department, where trainee Enya Siegburg talked about her work. Dr. Sebastian Nielen informed Gabriel about the requirements for working in research, and Simone Braun about the institute's statistics department. The programme also included insights into the graphics department, the work of student research assistants, IT and public relations. "The Boys’ Day offered me many interesting views of the work in a research institute", said Gabriel at the end of his day at the IfM Bonn.
