What could economic policy do to reduce the gender gap in entrepreneurship? Dr Armgard Wippler (Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection), Solène Le Coz-Fortis (Ministry of Economy and Finance, France), Irish entrepreneur Sinead Lonergan, Dr Teita Bijedić-Krumm (IfM Bonn), Marie Eloy (Femmes Territoires, France) and Maura McAdam (DCU Business School, Ireland) discussed this question at an online OECD event at the end of January.
Dr. Teita Bijedić-Krumm referred to current research results from the IfM Bonn, according to which women are less likely than men to develop an interest in starting a business, despite numerous political interventions to close this gender gap.
