Dr Annette Icks and Michael Holz presented the results of their various studies on bureaucracy at the annual meeting of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce at the end of September. Their audience was particularly interested in the follow-up costs identified by the two IfM researchers, such as the loss of investment and the increasingly diminishing enjoyment of entrepreneurial activity.
Dr Annette Icks and Michael Holz also discussed why they believe it would be helpful for German policymakers to follow the example of the bureaucracy reduction measures that are currently being implemented in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
