What characterises an entrepreneur? What are the basic needs for start-ups? In her keynote speech "Memories, Buildings, People and Power: Revisting Entrepreneurial Places" at the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Research Spring School in Stuttgart in mid-May, Professor Friederike Welter (IfM Bonn/University of Siegen) spoke in favour of researcher and politicians considering every start-up as important – and not just focusing on high-tech and high-growth companies.
