Prof. Dr Dr h.c. Friederike Welter (IfM Bonn/University of Siegen) believes that, in view of the ecological transformation, politicians should have more confidence in entrepreneurial initiatives: "Entrepreneurs are aware of the necessity of ecological transformation – and know best themselves where to start in their companies to do so. Politicians should focus on providing good and reliable framework conditions – and not try to control companies through ever more detailed regulations. "
Together with Peter Müller (former Federal Minister of Constitutional Affairs and Prime Minister of Saarland), Prof. Dr h.c. Roland Koch and Andreas Mundt (President of the Federal Cartel Office), the IfM President discussed the question "Are we well prepared for the challenges that the social market economy is currently facing and will face in the future?" at the Federal Cartel Office at the beginning of November as part of the Bonn Competition Talk 2024.
